Opossom – Electric Hawaii Review

 
Kody Nielson, formerly of The Mint Chicks, is back with a new project called Opossom and has just released the debut album for this band, entitled “Electric Hawaii”. According to the press release, this home-recorded album is about love, DIY, drugs and freedom, with a hint of Polynesian sounds, mixed into a stew of groove-laden garage psychedelia. Splendour gets its own Adelaide “Spin Off”

The guys behind Transmission and Plus One (5/4 Entertainment) have just announced the new “Spin Off” festival for Adelaide punters which will be taking place on Saturday July 21, in the enclosed Jubilee Pavilion at the Wayville Showgrounds.
Ticket sales to several Splendour side shows here in Adelaide which was a bit hit and miss last year (such as Kele’s Sideshow). Cub Scouts, out of Brisbane, are currently on tour in support of their new single “Do You Hear”. The guys released the official music video for this single last week.
They’ll be in Adelaide on Sat June 2 for Plus One at the Ed Castle, supported by City Riots, The Leitmotif and Little Two Eyes.

The first single from Mosman Adler’s “Burn Bright” EP, due to be released later this month has just been released along with the official music video, directed by Dylan Wiehahn.
The EP is due to come for release on the 25th of May, however you can buy the single now on iTunes or watch the video below.

Melbourne boys “Worlds End Press” have been bunkered down in the studio of late, working on some new tracks with fellow Melbournian, Dan Whitford of Cut Copy. This is their first release since their “Faithful” EP in 2010 and we’re glad to be hearing some new music from these boys. Hopefully we’ll get to hear it live in Adelaide sometime in the not too distant future.
